Grant Categories:
General Purpose:
“To provide for needs within the Diocese that cannot/are not funded in the annual budget, such as: diocesan/committee support, parish support and emergency needs within the diocese.” The General Purpose Grant is not intended to be awarded for parish projects or individual needs.
Education/Training ($100-$1,000/person, $500-$10,000/event):
“Provide education, formation and enrichment for clergy, laity and staff to meet the goals and objectives of the Diocese, such as: scholarships and support for diocesan trainings and events.”
Missional Grants ($5,000- $80,000):
“To provide for development, growth, expansion, explorations and innovation within the Diocese and the world at large, such as: growth initiatives, innovative ministries and marketing, community needs and campus ministries.” Missional Grants are intended to foster Leadership Development and Community Engagement.
NOTE: Those who receive this grant will have an additional application and additional requirements.
Outreach ($100- $30,000):
“Provide for needs/grants within or outside the Diocese not covered by other ministries, such as: jail and prison ministries, social justice initiatives, support for indigenous cultures, partnerships in the Anglican Communion, service projects, Millennium Development Goals, Five Marks of Mission.” Outreach Grants are not awarded to cover local parish outreach endeavors, such as contributions to food pantries, laundry ministry, thrift stores, etc.
Property ($1,000-$15,000):
“Provide support for physical buildings and land, such as: diocesan properties, capital needs for parish properties.” Property Grants are intended to address emergency needs and small projects that are also matched by funding through parish contributions.
Music ($50-$10,000)
“Provide funding for musical endeavors, such as: personnel, music, event, education, instruments, tools needed by parishes to enhance music programs.” Music Grants are the legacy of St. Mark’s, Santa Clara, and they are intended to bolster congregational worship and learning in the area of music.
