Diocesan Cycle of Prayer on the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost
This week, on the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost, we ask you to pray for St. Luke the Evangelist, Atascadero; St. Luke’s, Hollister; St. Luke’s, Jolon; and St. Luke’s, Los Gatos.
St. Luke was a physician and is identified with the church’s ministry of healing. In Colossians 4:14, he is described as “the beloved physician.” Many Episcopal hospitals are named after St. Luke because he is the patron saint of healing and the healing professions.
